Fuller and Richards mulling over fresh terms

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler has offered new contracts to skipper Barry Fuller and defender Garry Richards. The duo, whose contracts were set to expire this summer, were among the first players met by new boss Hessenthaler and he is desperate to keep them at the Priestfield Stadium. Fuller has been with the club since January 2008 and was part of the side that secured promotion out of League Two via the play-offs in 2008/09. He will be hoping to repeat that feat again next season, should he stay on, with the Gills having slipped back into the fourth tier after struggling to get to grips with life at the level above. Richards, who joined at the same time as Fuller, will also have a key role to play next term as he has become an integral part of Gillingham's back four. "They are two (players) we want to keep at this football club," said Hessenthaler. "We had a good chat with them and want them to be part of it. I'm hoping that they'll stay."
