Andres Iniesta believes Spain have achieved something which cannot be repeated and is happy that they stayed true to their beliefs in the Euro 2012 final.
Vicente del Bosque's team crushed Italy 4-0 to make history by becoming the first team to defend a European Championship at the same time as being World Cup holders.
They had been criticised throughout the tournament for their style of play, having received widespread praise in previous years, but did not change their approach for the Kiev showpiece as Del Bosque again lined up without a recognised striker.
Iniesta played his part in a sublime performance and is proud of the way Spain remained committed to their passing game.
"Everybody has their opinion," he said.
"We are not here to say that our game is the most beautiful of them all. Everyone has a different view.
"Today, we had a great level of play and were faithful to our style."
Unique
Spain's cause was helped in the second half when Thiago Motta suffered an injury after Italy had used all three of their substitutions, with Fernando Torres and Juan Mata adding late goals after David Silva and Jordi Alba had scored in the first half.
And Iniesta does not believe any team will ever be able to equal what Spain have accomplished over the past few years.
He said: "That they only had 10 players made things easier for us.
"This victory is unique and magical. It is something that cannot be repeated.
"We haven't ignored how great it is."
