Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino insists his side must fight their way to victory in the north London derby.

Spurs take on Arsenal on Saturday Night Football, live on Sky Sports 1HD, without a win at the Emirates against their bitter rivals since November 2010.

Argentinian Pochettino, who tastes the derby for the very first time, says he thrives in such hostility and will demand his players do the same.

"Playing Arsenal is not another game - it's impossible to think it is,” the 42-year-old said.

“I know the feeling of our supporters and we need to relay this feeling on the pitch.

"It's our responsibility to fight for every ball. Our supporters expect that of us. If we do then the result may arrive for us.

“I’m stronger with hostile situations. It's not strange for me. I like it."

New Tottenham midfielder Benjamin Stambouli, signed from Montpellier in the summer, is also relishing the contest despite not yet being guaranteed a place in Pochettino’s starting line-up.

"I am learning a lot about north London. It is a very important game against Arsenal,” he said.

“I know now that they are the enemy. I used to be friends with Olivier Giroud, but now he is no longer my friend - it is finished.

"A lot of people spoke about Arsenal back home because of all the French players who used to play for them but, now I belong to Tottenham, all I want to do is beat them.”

Arsenal v Tottenham is live on Sky Sports 1HD from 4.45pm on Saturday.
