Inter Milan secured a much-needed boost with victory over Fiorentina as Lazio moved to within a point of Serie A leaders Juventus. Claudio Ranieri oversaw Inter's fifth win of the campaign from 13 matches as goals either side of half-time clinched a 2-0 home triumph over Fiorentina. Striker Giampaolo Pazzini opened the scoring against his former club on 41 minutes and Yuto Nagatomo added the second four minutes after the interval. Veteran striker Miroslav Klose scored a brace, including a late winner, as Lazio battled for a 3-2 success at bottom club Lecce to climb into second spot. David Di Michele's penalty gave Lecce a 12th minute lead, but Klose equalised on 28 minutes and former Sunderland midfielder Lorik Cana put Lazio ahead two minutes into the second half. Lecce were level just before the hour mark thanks to Stefano Ferrario's goal, but ex-Bayern Munich hit-man Klose pounced for the winner three minutes from time. Cesena boosted their survival hopes with only a third win of the season after a surprise 1-0 triumph away to Palermo. Romanian striker Adrian Mutu scored the only goal on 63 minutes before Palermo then had Ezequiel Munoz sent off for a second bookable offence. Genoa rocketed up the congested Serie A standings after a 2-0 win at Siena thanks to two second-half goals. Marco Rossi opened the scoring on 56 minutes and, after Siena's Mattia Destro had struck the bar, Rodrigo Palacio made certain of the points in the last minute.
