Keeper could join U's following South Africa spell

Skysports.com understands Oxford United are in talks with former Bury goalkeeper Wayne Brown over a possible player-coach role. The 34-year-old is a free agent after spending time at South African side Supersport United last season and the League Two club are thought to be interested in his services. Last month Brown cooled speculation linking him with a coaching role at Tottenham and a move to Shrewsbury Town. The keeper played for Bury between 2008-10 before departing for Pretoria. He has also had spells at Bristol City, where he began his career, and Hereford. If a deal materialised, Brown would provide competition to regular Oxford No.1 Ryan Clarke.
