Javier Hernandez struck twice for Mexico as they thrashed Paraguay while Portugal were held by Chile.

Manchester United striker Hernandez is enjoying an excellent season and it continued on the international stage as he bagged a brace in a 3-1 Mexico win over Paraguay.

Hernandez struck twice and another goal from Andres Guardado sealed a comfortable victory.

Meanwhile, Portugal took on South American outfit Chile and the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in Leiria.

Silvestre Varela opened the scoring for Portugal in the 16th minute but Sporting Lisbon midfielder Matias Fernandez levelled things up just before the break.
