The Hornets are prepared to let the Scotland international leave the club on a free transfer.
Iwelumo, who only joined Watford last summer from Burnley, has been informed by new Hornets boss Gianfranco Zola he does not figure in his long-term plans.
The 33-year-old scored four goals in his debut season for Watford after struggling to hold down a regular place in the side.
A number of clubs have been alerted to Iwelumo's availability and are weighing up a move for the big forward.
