Former Liverpool player Ryan Babel believes his career has benefited from moving to Hoffenheim, but he still thinks there is room for improvement.
The Dutchman moved to Germany in January after a disappointing three-and-a-half years at Anfield, where he only showed flashes of his ability and was regularly a substitute.
Babel is now relishing the opportunity of consistent first-team football with Hoffenheim, who sit fifth in the Bundesliga after taking nine points from their opening five matches of this season.
He told
BILD: "I have been at Hoffenheim since January. The move in the winter was a quick one.
"I just had to leave negative things behind me. Now I have been able to have holidays as well as I had been able to participate in every session of training during pre-season.

"I am at a different standard now, both physically and mentally."
The forward also hopes a new, ruthless mentality in front of goal will continue to raise his game after scoring three times already this season.
Babel, 24, said: "I can still improve. I have to be more selfish when in front of the goal. I may need to be like that to make a significant improvement.
"I can probably focus on that if the team is performing consistently. I am a team-player, I perform for the team.
"If I am scoring, it is great. But if we win and I have made two assists, I am happy."
