Striker set to make comeback against Leicester

West Bromwich Albion's assistant coach Eddie Newton believes it is important not to expect too much too soon from Ishmael Miller. The striker has not featured for the Baggies since the opening day of the season after being sidelined by a thigh tendon injury. He is in line to play in Tuesday's Carling Cup tie at Leicester City, who have been linked with a loan move for Miller. Newton does not want to take any risks with Miller's fitness and says the forward understands why West Brom are adopting a cautious approach.

Positive

"It's important for Ishmael that we look after him and build him up slowly because he's had such rotten luck with injuries," said Newton. "He understands that. We've had plenty of chats with him and he knows what he has to do. "The medical team say he's been working extremely hard to get back in. "He's now training, is positive and, like any footballer, just wants to play games." Meanwhile, Marek Cech is also likely to face Leicester after being sidelined since suffering a broken foot in the second-round success over Leyton Orient two months ago. Newton added: "Marek has also been training and is looking very good. He's a naturally fit boy so even though he's had a long period out, he's looking very sharp."
