Defender pulls a thigh muscle to add to Juventus' problems

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has been ruled out for one month after sustaining a thigh injury. The centre-back limped out of Italy's friendly win in Ukraine on Tuesday after just 17 minutes and will now be out for almost all of the rest of the season. Chiellini has pulled a thigh muscle and his recovery period only serves to increase Juventus' problems. The Serie A side are also sweating on the fitness of veteran striker Alessandro Del Piero, who pulled up in training on Wednesday and is to undergo tests on Friday morning. Juventus are seventh in the Serie A table with a trip to Roma to come at the weekend and they face a battle to secure European football next season.
