Bentley happy to secure defender and keeper Routledge

Morecambe have completed the signing of Nick Fenton following the experienced defender's departure from Rotherham United. Fenton left Rotherham at the end of last season and he has now accepted a two-year contract with League Two rivals Morecambe. He has been training with the Shrimps in pre-season and manager Jim Bentley is happy to have added the 31-year-old to his squad. "I have known Nick since my days as a youngster with Manchester City and I have always rated him highly," Bentley told the club's official website. "He is a leader and a real presence on the pitch and he has proved in pre-season just what a good player he is.'' Morecambe have also signed goalkeeper Shaun Routledge on a one-year contract after he also caught the eye in pre-season. Bentley added: "Shaun was given a couple of weeks to impress and he has done well in training and he will be a good addition to our squad this season.''
