Goalkeeper Barry Roche has signed a two-year contract extension at Morecambe.

Goalkeeper staying for an additional two seasons

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy has secured the services of goalkeeper Barry Roche for a further two seasons. The 28-year old has become an integral part of the team since arriving at Christie Park two years ago, being named as the club's player of year for this season. Roche, who signed from Chesterfield, is pleased to be part of an exciting time for the club, who reached the League Two play-offs before suffering defeat at the hands of Dagenham & Redbridge. He told the club's official website: "I have had a superb two years at Morecambe and loved every minute of it. "I am really ambitious and Morecambe are a club that are going places. We showed that this year by reaching the play-offs and I am hoping we can match that next season."
