Hornets boss delighted to have Gunners starlet on board

Watford manager Brendan Rodgers says the Championship club are still looking for new signings despite the arrival of Gavin Hoyte. The Hornets were quick out of the blocks ahead of the opening of the transfer window by announcing the capture of Hoyte on loan from Arsenal on New Year's Eve. The 18-year-old, who has started in the Premier League for The Gunners this term, will spend the second half of the season on loan at Vicarage Road. Former Chelsea reserve team coach Rodgers is fully aware of what big clubs look for when loaning out players and the 35-year-old believes he will justify Arsene Wenger's decision to allow the youngster to join Watford.

Wonderful talent

"He's a wonderful talent and I'm really excited about working with a young player from a big club," he told Sky Sports News. "I've been on the other side so I know what the big clubs want. I'd also like to thank Arsene Wenger for allowing us to take someone who has already played in the Premier League this year, who they see as a big talent. He's 18 years of age and we'll look at one or two others to come in to improve the squad. "It's been made clear to me and I've made it clear that no one has to leave unless I want them to leave, which is good. I'm really about constructing and building something here, not trying to dismantle it."
