Sky Sports understands Burnley's Alex MacDonald is set to leave club in the January transfer window.

The forward is keen to exit Turf Moor in search of more regular first-team football after finding opportunities limited.

MacDonald has six months left on his Burnley contract but a number of League One and Two clubs are looking at him.

And the 22-year-old would therefore be willing to listen to offers when the winter transfer window opens in just less than two weeks.

Scotland Under 21 international MacDonald has already spent time on loan at Falkirk, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and, earlier this season, Plymouth Argyle during his career.
