South Korean forward seals Spanish switch

Celta Vigo have announced that they have reached an agreement which will see Arsenal forward Park Chu-young take in a loan spell in Spain. The South Korea international passed a medical on Friday and will link up with Celta on an initial season-long agreement, with the option for a permanent deal to be struck at a later date. The 27-year-old moved to Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2011 from Monaco, but failed to make an impact during his debut season in England. Arsene Wenger stripped Park of the number nine jersey at the start of the current campaign, suggesting he was open to offers. Celta have been able to piece together a suitable package and are delighted to have added another fresh face to their squad. "Park Chu-young becomes the sixth addition of the Real Club Celta for the 2012/2013 season," read a statement on the club's official website. "The Asian striker, a full international since 2005, recently won a bronze medal in men's soccer at the London Olympics."
