Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the departures of fringe players Terrence Boyd and Johannes Focher.

Boyd also departs but is tipped for a bright future

Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the departures of fringe players Terrence Boyd and Johannes Focher. USA international striker Boyd is joining Rapid Vienna on a three-year-deal, while Focher joins fellow Austrian top-division outfit Sturm Graz on a contract until June 2014. Dortmund will receive an undisclosed fee for Boyd, 21, but goalkeeper Focher, 22, leaves the club on a Bosman transfer. Focher told Sportinformationsdienst: "I did not really need to think about moving on.

Big star

"Sturm Graz is a household club, even in Germany. I am looking to play for the club, getting to know its fans and the city of Graz as well." Both players had been regulars with the Under 23 side of Dortmund in the most recent season in the fourth tier of German football. Boyd scored 20 goals in 32 matches and Rapid Vienna manager Peter Schottel was understandably impressed. He told his club's official website: "We have been looking at Terrence Boyd for some time during those matches he played for Borussia Dortmund." Schottel added: "Terrence Boyd is no big star yet but he holds a big talent. We feel he has all the qualities to be a big hit among the Rapid Vienna squad in the future."
