Sky Sports understands Bristol City and Ipswich are both eyeing a move for Middlesbrough's Stephen McManus.
The Scotland international is not a regular under Tony Mowbray, with home-grown stars Rhys Williams and Matthew Bates ahead of him in the pecking order.
Mowbray sold McManus during his tenure at Celtic and it appears he could be about to repeat the act at Boro.
McManus, 29, is not without his admirers, though, and
Sky Sports understands a number of clubs are looking at him.
And amongst those interested are Bristol City and Ipswich, who could both see the former Celtic man as a valuable addition to their respective defences.
Mowbray admitted over the weekend that he would like to do some more business after signing Lukas Jutkiewicz, but he wants to move others out, and McManus could very well be one of those.

"There is a lot going on. We have to wait and see. I am trying to create space. Certain areas of this team need strengthening and in other areas we have a few players," he said.
"If we get an offer that we think is a good offer, and we feel we could use his salary elsewhere, then those things have to be done. But we will not be jeopardising what we already have.
"We need to create some space in the budget to move things around. I have no problem with the people that are not impacting on the first XI moving on.
"If it suits us financially and suits the player then that is football. I will be very loath to lose a player who is playing his part every week. It is a fine balancing act for us. We probably do need some funds to bring players in but not by selling the wrong ones."
One player who Mowbray confirmed could be on his way is Estonian winger Tarmo Kink, who has become a fringe player this season.
"There has been interest in Tarmo from outside this country. Tarmo is in control of his own destiny," said Mowbray.
"But no-one will be pushed out of the door here."
