Fulham midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe has been charged by the Football Association following comments made on Twitter.
In a statement the FA said Tunnicliffe, 22, is accused of "aggravated misconduct by reference to sexual orientation after comments posted on his Twitter account".
The Tweets have since been deleted from Tunnicliffe's account.
The former Manchester United youngster has until Thursday, June 11 to respond to the charge.
Tunnicliffe moved from Old Trafford to Fulham in January 2014 and made 41 appearances last season, scoring one goal.
