Pele was back at home on Sunday after being released from hospital following surgery and positive news about a prostate condition.

The 74-year-old Brazil legend underwent an operation after being admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo on Tuesday with a prostate condition having also been treated at the same hospital in November.

Pele's test results "revealed that it was a benign hyperplasia, therefore no incidence of tumours," according to an official hospital statement.

Pele, widely regarded as the world's greatest ever player after a decorated career in which he scored 1,281 goals, was released on Saturday evening in Brazil.

The three-time World Cup winner was treated at the same hospital late last year after being diagnosed with a urinary tract infection which stemmed from a November 13 operation to remove kidney stones.

He has only one kidney, having had one removed towards the end of his playing career.
