Crystal Palace manager Pardew says midfielder McArthur should be embarrassed by his dive against Stoke.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has criticised his midfielder James McArthur for diving in his side's 2-1 win at Stoke.

McArthur was booked early in the second half at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday after taking a clear dive in the area in a bid to win a penalty.

And Pardew told Sky Sports' Goals on Sunday that he wasn't happy with the Scotland international's actions.

"He dived. He should be embarrassed," Pardew said.

"He's a great professional and that's unlike him. I was surprised but it shows what pressure does to players.

"I haven't spoken to him about it but I don't need to. He will see the replay and he will be embarrassed."
