Eintracht Frankfurt president Heribert Bruchhagen says he is delighted by the work being done by his club's new coach Thomas Schaaf, in spite of Sunday's defeat to Paderborn.

Schaaf was picked to replace Armin Veh, who the club reluctantly allowed to leave to join Stuttgart in the summer after three successful years at the helm.

The former Werder Bremen coach has latched on seamlessly to the work of his predecessor with the Eagles currently eighth in the Bundesliga, and Bruchhagen has spoken in the highest tones of his coach.

``We lost four key players (in the summer) and we knew that we had to renew our side,'' he told Sport1 radio.

``Thomas Schaaf has great experience in team building. He's been a big figure in the Bundesliga for many years and that's why we put our faith in him, and he has shown already that he is up to the challenge.''

Bruchhagen is not setting Schaaf any targets other than to say he is satisfied with the way things are going so far.

``It's only the eighth round of matches so it's still too soon to say what direction we are heading, but we would have been happy if somebody said we would have had 12 points after eight matches,'' he added.

``But we've got a difficult run of fixtures in November. We've got to go to Hannover and Gladbach and host Bayern and Dortmund.''
