Sky Sports understands that Burnley are set to sign former Bolton player Matt Taylor.

The 32-year-old is a free agent after leaving West Ham United in the summer, and he is now heading back to the North West where he spent three successful years with Bolton.

Taylor is now due at Burnley's training ground for a medical, ahead of signing a two-year deal at Turf Moor.

He is now set to become Burnley's third signing of the summer following their promotion to the Premier League, with deals having already been concluded for Michael Kightly and Matt Gilks.

Taylor will give manager Sean Dyche versatility in midfield and defence, as well as bringing a wealth of top-flight experience.
