Lee Grant - Burnley
Grant held firm in the Burnley goal as the Clarets were tested by Crystal Palace but ultimately prevailed in a 1-0 win. The keeper made vital clearances to deny Wilfried Zaha and Jason Shackell as the Eagles threatened, holding on for his eighth clean sheet of the campaign.
Inigo Calderon - Brighton
Calderon showed his prowess getting forward for Brighton as they saw off Derby 2-1, having a hand in both of the Seagulls' two goals. The Spaniard first found David Lopez in plenty of space to allow him to set up Ashley Barnes' tap-in from close range, then whipped in an inviting cross from the right to assist Andrea Orlandi's second.
Roger Johnson - Wolves
Wolves centre-back Johnson popped up with a second-half equaliser for the Midlanders as they salvaged a 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn in what was manager Dean Saunders' first game in charge. The defender latched onto Jamie O'Hara's pass into the box and made no mistake with his header as he found the back of the net for his second goal this season.
Luke Chambers - Ipswich
Chambers cut a solid figure at the back as Ipswich frustrated Championship leaders Cardiff in a goalless draw in South Wales. The centre-half contributed a number of important clearances to keep the Bluebirds at bay, most noticeably denying Craig Bellamy in the second half with a well-timed block.
Reda Johnson - Sheffield Wednesday
Lowly Sheffield Wednesday caused an upset at high-flying Hull City as they secured a surprise 3-1 win and Johnson was an influential figure. The left-back helped keep things tight in defence for the Owls while also contributing their opening goal when he glanced home Rhy McCabe's cross in the 24th minute.
Chris Burke - Birmingham
Burke is reportedly attracting interest in this month's transfer window and it's not hard to see why following his impressive showing in Birmingham's 1-1 draw at Huddersfield. The winger caused beleaguered Terriers left-back Paul Dixon a headache all afternoon and saw his cross deflected into the path of Callum Reilly for the Blues' opener.
Radoslaw Majewski - Nottingham Forest
Alex McLeish enjoyed his first win as Nottingham Forest manager as they beat Peterborough 2-1 and Poland international Majewski provided the home side's creative force from midfield, capping his hard-working display when he swung in a well-placed corner to set up Elliott Ward's winner seven minutes from time.
Johnnie Jackson - Charlton
Charlton's influential captain was leading by example once again as he helped fire them to a 2-1 home win over Blackpool. The midfielder opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, latching onto Chris Solly's deflected pass and unleashing a speculative effort from the edge of the box that bobbled its way into the back of the net.
Chris Dagnall - Barnsley
Basement side Barnsley earned a welcome boost in the Yorkshire derby against Leeds as they pulled off a convincing 2-0 win and it was Dagnall that provided both goals for the home side. The striker won and then converted a penalty in the 63rd minute before doubling his haul three minutes later when he applied the finish to Marlon Harewood's weighted pass.
Chris Wood - Leicester
Wood bagged the headlines on Saturday as his first-half hat-trick inspired Leicester's 4-0 romp at rock-bottom Bristol City. The 21-year-old striker needed only 11 minutes to break the deadlock with a low shot at the near post, then added two more inside the opening 41 minutes to send the Foxes cruising to victory.
Matej Vydra - Watford
Vydra struck his 13th and 14th goals of the season for Watford as they brought Middlesbrough's impressive home run to an end with a 2-1 win. The striker, on loan from Udinese, netted in first-half stoppage time when he pounced on a loose ball in the area and drilled a left-footed shot home, then sealed the victory late on when he buried another neat finish past goalkeeper Jason Steele.
