Tomasz Kuszczak - Brighton
The former Manchester United goalkeeper completed a permanent switch to Brighton in the summer and made a less than impressive start at his new club - conceding three goals against Swindon on debut. But it's now four wins on the bounce for the Seagulls and the 30-year-old Poland international has enjoyed a great week as the only Championship goalkeeper to keep two clean sheets.
Bruno - Brighton
The signing of the 31-year-old former Valencia right-back was something of a coup for Gus Poyet's side. Bruno was happy to link up with former Los Che team-mate Vicente and has slipped seamlessly into the Brighton back-line, bringing his intelligent passing game to the Championship. Although he was booked in the emphatic home win over Sheffield Wednesday, the Catalan defender has played his part in two shut-outs to make it four successive wins for Brighton now.
Abdoulaye Faye - Hull City
Faye was unable to prevent either Millwall or Leeds finding a way past Ben Amos in the Hull goal this week but he did make a significant contribution to the Tigers' wins nonetheless. The 34-year-old Senegal international is at his fifth English club and isn't known for his goalscoring. He managed just three league goals in 60 games for Bolton but he has matched that tally in September alone for Steve Bruce's side - scoring in three consecutive wins.
Roger Johnson - Wolves
Stripped of the captaincy and targeted by the Molineux boo-boys, Johnson has endured a difficult time of it at Wolves following his move from Birmingham last summer. But new boss Stale Solbakken has highlighted the 29-year-old defender's desire for "revenge" this season and he has begun the campaign in fine style, helping Wolves to consecutive wins in the past week and a first clean sheet at Ipswich.
Wayne Bridge - Brighton
The former England international left-back finds himself in the Championship at the age of just 32 but Bridge is responding to the challenge in impressive style. He was part of the Brighton back-four that helped Kuszczak keep two clean sheets and also proved a useful weapon at the other end. The ex-Chelsea man scored the opening goal of the game - and his second of the season - in the Seagulls' 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening.
Robert Koren - Hull City
The former Slovenia skipper boasts a fine goalscoring record for the Tigers and he was on the mark in both of his side's matches this week. The 32-year-old midfielder has been entrusted with a key role under Bruce and helped make light of a daunting couple of games against Millwall and Leeds. Koren scored the opening goal against the Lions before grabbing what turned out to be the crucial third goal in Tuesday's trip to Elland Road.
Tongo Doumbia - Wolves
The Mali midfielder has showed his undoubted quality in the early stages of the season. He was withdrawn in the 66th minute with Wolves 2-0 up against Leicester on Sunday and they faded in his absence. His team-mates were then struggling at Ipswich before the 23-year-old re-emerged to score and make it six points in two games for Wolves - and a 4-0 aggregate for Doumbia's 90 minutes on the pitch.
Peter Whittingham - Cardiff
The Cardiff midfielder makes something of a habit of going on scoring sequences and he is at it again having scored in his last three games for the Bluebirds. The former Aston Villa man made it into the Championship team of the week with his hat-trick against Wolves earlier this month and has followed up by netting in back-to-back wins over Leeds and Millwall.
Nuno Gomes - Blackburn
The acquisition of a 36-year-old striker whose best days seemed to be behind him raised eyebrows but Nuno Gomes has made a flying start to his Ewood Park career. The Portugal international has now scored four goals in his first six games and has really come into his own with two vital efforts this week. The veteran put Rovers in front at Bristol City and then stole all three points for Steve Kean's men with a late winner at home to Barnsley on Tuesday night.
Sam Baldock - Bristol City
Baldock has got off to a superb start to his Bristol City career with four goals in his first four games for the Robins - two of those appearances coming off the bench. He's already just one goal short of his tally for last season with West Ham. His effort as a substitute at home to Blackburn at the weekend proved irrelevant but his brace at Peterborough in midweek was anything but - his second-half goals securing a third win of the season for Derek McInnes' men.
Jordan Rhodes - Blackburn
The £8million man could have been forgiven for feeling the pressure of his transfer fee but you wouldn't know it from the start he has made to his Rovers career. Three goals in two games for the Scotland international this week made it five goals for the season so far, helping Blackburn to six points and ensuring that Kean's men are sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table.
