Argentina have been forced to replace three key players for the World Cup qualifier in Peru.
Argentina boss Marcelo Bielsa has been forced to replace three key players for their World Cup qualifier in Peru.Valencia centre back Roberto Ayala, on loan Internazionale midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron and on loan Milan striker Hernan Crespo have been excluded from the September 4 clash in Lima.
Valencia did not want Ayala to travel to South America because of his absence from their pre-season preparations while on international duty with his country in July's Copa America and the Athens Olympics at present.
Both Milan and Inter were reluctant to let Crespo and Veron respectively leave because of concerns over their physical condition ahead of the new Serie A season.
A statement from the Argentine Football Association announced the changes to the original squad that was initially selected on August 22.
Bielsa, who is currently preparing his Olympic squad for the Gold Medal final against South American rivals Paraguay on Saturday, has brought in Real Zaragoza's Gabriel Milito, his brother Diego Milito from Genoa and Sunderland midfielder Nicolas Medina (pictured) to replace the missing trio.
The Argentina manager, meanwhile, has yet to decide on a second goalkeeper for his squad next week, with River Plate custodian German Lux and Boca Juniors keeper Roberto Abbondanzieri likely to be his choices.
