Barca skipper sidelined with leg injury

Carles Puyol has withdrawn from the Spain squad for their upcoming matches against Liechtenstein and Argentina. The Barcelona captain has been sidelined by a leg injury and was forced out of the national team's first training session on Tuesday. The 32-year-old has since returned home to Barcelona to undergo tests to determine the extent of the problem. Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has called up Osasuna defender Nacho Monreal as Puyol's replacement in the 21-man squad. The World Cup winners face Liechtenstein in their opening Euro 2012 qualifier in Vaduz on Friday before taking on Argentina in a friendly in Buenos Aires four days later.
