Germany Under-21 striker Aaron Hunt has been charged by Uefa with gross unsporting conduct over accusations made against him last month.England's Micah Richards and Anton Ferdinand are both alleged to have been the subject of racist remarks during the international between the two nations last month.
The Football Association complained to Uefa about the comments and European football's governing body have now charged Hunt.
The Werder Bremen man's case will be heard by Uefa's control and disciplinary body on Thursday.
If found guilty, Hunt is likely to be handed a suspension, although he continues to deny any wrongdoing.
"I have not used any racial expressions," Hunt said in a statement.
"There were obviously a lot of verbal exchanges from both sides in this game, but such things happen in every game.
"I share a room with Kevin Prince Boateng. He is a black player. I hope that says it all."
Uefa recently handed out a five-match ban to Wisla Krakow defender Nikola Mijailovic for comments made towards Blackburn's Benni McCarthy in last month's Uefa Cup clash.
