No tinkering for Voller

German coach Rudi Voller has resisted the urge to experiment ahead of Euro 2004 by naming a squad of tried-and-trusted faces for next week's friendly in Romania.

The German media had speculated that Voller might give Hannover 96 striker Thomas Brdaric or Cologne youngster Lukas Podolski a late chance to impress, but Voller has named what many experts now expect to be the players he will take to Portugal.

Goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, Werder Bremen's Frank Baumann and Borussia Dortmund's Sebastian Kehl all return to duty after missing the recent victory over Belgium.

The full Euro 2004 squad is expected to be complemented by Miroslav Klose and Andreas Hinkel when they return from injury.

German squad to face Romania:

Oliver Kahn (Bayern Munich), Jens Lehmann (Arsenal), Frank Baumann (Bremen), Arne Friedrich (Hertha Berlin), Philipp Lahm (Stuttgart), Jens Nowotny (Bayer Leverkusen), Christian Worns (Dortmund), Michael Ballack (Bayern Munich), Fabian Ernst (Bremen), Torsten Frings (Dortmund), Dietmar Hamann (Liverpool), Jens Jeremies (Bayern Munich), Sebastian Kehl (Dortmund), Christian Rahn (Hamburg), Carsten Ramelow (Bayer Leverkusen), Bernd Schneider (Bayer Leverkusen), Fredi Bobic (Hertha Berlin), Paul Freier (Bochum), Kevin Kuranyi (Stuttgart), Oliver Neuville (Bayer Leverkusen).
