Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been left out of Dick Advocaat's Holland squad for Euro 2004, although his new team-mate Arjen Robben has made the 23-man party.
Hasselbaink has not enjoyed the best of times with the national set-up, but was hoping to make a return to Portugal, where he made his name at Boavista.
Advocaat has a wealth of striking talent available at his disposal, and has chosen Ruud van Nistelrooy, Roy Makaay, Patrick Kluivert and Pierre van Hooijdonk as his main front men.
20-year-old Robben has been struggling with a hamstring injury but has been able to prove his fitness enough for Advocaat to include him in his squad.
"I am looking forward to playing at the European Championships," Robben told Voetbal International.
"I have already played in the Under-19 World Cup in Argentina and that made quite an impression. Now it all will be much bigger.
"My only goal is to show that I am ready for the first game against Germany if the coach wants to use me."
Another Chelsea man, Mario Melchiot, has also failed to make the squad but remains on stand-by along with Hasselbaink.
PSV Eindhoven's Andre Ooijer and Manchester City midfielder Paul Bosvelt are also on stand-by and will come in should any injuries crop up.
