More injury woe for Irish

STEVE FINNAN and Steven Reid are the latest players to withdraw from the Republic of Ireland's heavily depleted European Championship squad.

Brian Kerr is leading his side into qualifying action against Georgia and Albania next week but his squad has been decimated by injuries.

Robbie Keane is a major doubt due to the tragic death of his father, while the likes of Clinton Morrison, Gary Kelly, Ian Harte and Jason McAteer have all pulled out with injuries.

Finnan has failed to recover from a broken rib in time to make the trip and Millwall midfielder Reid has an ankle injury.

Arsenal's Graham Barrett, who is currently on loan at Division One strugglers Brighton, has been promoted from the Under-21 squad by Kerr as a result of the injury crisis.

Kerr knows his side must get a good result in Tblisi to kick-start their Euro 2004 campaign after losing the opening two matches against Russia and Switzerland.
