Wales boss Chris Coleman reserved a special mention for Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey

Chris Coleman praised Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey as the pair helped steer Wales to the top of Group B in the European Qualifiers with a 3-0 win over 10-man Israel.

Bale scored two and set up Ramsey’s opener as Wales claimed their first competitive away win over a top 50-ranked side in eight years.

And Coleman rightly reserved a special mention for the pair out as they combined for the first and third goals.

"You have to play to their strengths," Coleman told Sky Sports.

Gareth Bale scored a wonderful free-kick as Wales beat Israel 3-0 in Group B

"We tried to put Baley and Rambo in positions where they were going to get the ball and do the most damage.

"But before the ball gets to them it goes through nine other people and before we get the ball to them we have to win it back, try and keep it and then give it to them.”

He added: "Our biggest strength is the togetherness in the group. The players all know their jobs and what their roles and responsibilities are.

"The reason we are doing well is because everybody is doing a little bit for someone else in the group."

James Collins said it was now a real possibility that Wales could qualify after they beat Israel 3-0 in Haifa

Despite easing to a comfortable victory in the end, Coleman was felt Eitan Tibi's sending-off made his side’s job all the harder.

"I think we could have scored more goals," he added. "I think the worst thing that happened was when they had a man sent off, funnily enough, because we were a bit sloppy for 10 or 15 minutes.

"When it was 11 v 11, I thought we were magnificent - we were always in control of the game, controlled the tempo, some of our passing was fantastic, creating chances.

"I think they had one chance in the first half and overall I thought our players were really brave tonight."
