Goalkeeper Artur Boruc believes Scotland have made impressive progress under manager Gordon Strachan ahead of their European qualifying showdown.
Boruc is fully aware of Strachan's coaching qualities after playing under him during his reign at Celtic and should be in the opposing dugout to his former boss in Wednesday's group D encounter in Warsaw.
The 34-year-old Southampton player, a likely understudy to Arsenal's Wojciech Szczesny, retains plenty of respect for Strachan, who has picked up four wins from eight competitive games.
Scotland are hoping to build on Saturday's 1-0 victory over Georgia at Ibrox on Saturday.
"He's a great coach and an absolutely great character. I think he has done a lot of great work in the past 18 months as coach of Scotland," said Boruc, who is currently on loan at Bournemouth.
"He has great characteristics and a great attitude as coach towards his players. He has helped the team really, really well and the progress in the last few months has been very, very good."
Poland head into the game on a high after this week's historic win over world champions Germany, but boss Adam Nawalka insists his team have swiftly turned their attention to Scotland.
"The team is actually very calm and modest. At the end of the game against Germany we were already focusing on the game against Scotland," Nawalka said.
"I think we will show that we are heading in the right direction.
"We have to be prepared mentally and physically and we need a good gameplan like we had against Germany."
