Former Republic of Ireland international Ray Treacy has died at the age of 68.

The Dubliner won 42 caps for his country between 1966 and 1980 and had two spells with West Brom while also featuring for Charlton Athletic, Swindon and Preston.

He spent two years as player-manager of Drogheda United before going on to manage Home Farm, and Shamrock Rovers, guiding the latter to a league title in 1994.

Treacy cemented his bond with supporters in the Republic when setting up his own travel company and became the official partner of the FAI in organising travel for the Irish team and fans.
