Crewe star named in Northern Ireland squad

Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington has called uncapped midfielders Michael O'Connor and Michael Gault into his squad for the friendly with Georgia at Windsor Park on 26th March. Crewe's O'Connor makes the step up from the Under 21 squad, while Gault, 24, wins a first call-up after impressing for Carnegie Premier League champions Linfield. Derby goalkeeper Roy Carroll has also been named by Worthington as the former Rangers shot-stopper returns as cover for Birmingham's Maik Taylor. Cardiff striker Warren Feeney and Hull's Stuart Elliott, currently on loan at Doncaster, have also earned a spot in the 22-man squad after overcoming recent injuries. Record scorer David Healy, who has hit 33 goals for his country, keeps his place although he has not started for Fulham since the FA Cup third round replay defeat to Bristol Rovers in January.
