Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has a range of game plans which don’t just go from A to B, but from A to Z, according to Sky Deutschland’s Uli Koehler.

The Spaniard was the toast of Germany once again on Tuesday night after leading Bayern to a rampaging 6-1 win over Porto which saw them qualify for the Champions League semi-finals in grand style.

The win was especially impressive as it was achieved without Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and David Alaba, and Koehler says it is an illustration of the tactical genius of Guardiola.

“Bayern were without a lot of injured players, the kind of players who can really make a difference, but now it is the other clubs who will fear playing Bayern,” he said.

“Under the circumstances and in the high pressure, this was a really good performance. There were 26 passes in the build-up to (Robert) Lewandowski’s goal and that has never been done in the Champions League before.

“Pep Guardiola has a gameplan that not only has an A, B and C but also goes from A to Z. He has the full set. He changed everything last night, playing long balls and playing Philip Lahm on the right wing, and it surprised the opponents.”
