Aaron Ramsey discusses his goal at Galatasaray

Aaron Ramsey hailed Arsenal's performance as they ran out 4-1 winners against Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The Welshman scored twice, including a stunning left-foot volley which pundits are describing as one of the goals of the season, as Arsene Wenger's much-changed side finished the group stage in fine style.

Is Ramsey back to his best?

And Ramsey, who was substituted at half-time in Istanbul, is now looking forward to seeing who his side draw in the next round.

“We came here with a few players making their first team appearances tonight and they did great,” he told Sky Sports.

“It was nice to come here and nearly come away with what we needed to top the group. It wasn’t to be but we finished off strongly and we’re pleased with that.

“Now we look forward to seeing who we are up against in the next round.”

Lukas Podolski also scored a double as Arsenal produced a clinical display but it was not enough for them to finish top of Group D after Borussia Dortmund’s draw with Anderlecht.

More from Galatasaray V Arsenal

Ramsey failed to appear after half-time after he felt his hamstring tighten but he insists the injury is not serious and is hopeful of making a full recovery in time for the visit of Newcastle in the Saturday Night Football.

He said: “I just felt a bit of a tight hamstring and now I can just recover for the weekend and the game against Newcastle."
