Veteran Swiss striker Alexander Frei is to retire at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old, who plays for Basle, netted 42 goals in 84 appearances for his national team in a 10-year international career that ended in April 2011.
Frei has played for clubs in Germany and France, as well as his native Switzerland.
He spent three seasons with Borussia Dortmund before returning to Switzerland in 2009 and collected three league titles with his home-town club Basle.
He scored three goals in two games against Manchester United last season to knock the Red Devils out of the UEFA Champions League at the group stage.
