Sparta snap up keeper

STRUGGLING Sparta Rotterdam have moved to strengthen their squad by snapping up Belgian keeper Brian Vandenbussche.

The 20-year-old impressed Sparta coach Frank Rijkaard (pictured) during a trial earlier in the year and was swiftly offered a two-year deal.

Rijkaard has Frank Kooiman and Viktor Kros currently occupying the first two slots, and has been on the lookout for a young keeper for some time.

Vandenbussche is the man he has placed his faith in, with the Brugge custodian likely to fight for a starting place next term.
