PSV Eindhoven maintained their 100 per cent winning start to the new Eredivisie season but reigning champions Ajax suffered their second defeat.

Phillip Cocu's PSV had won their opening three matches and a comfortable 2-0 victory over Vitesse continued a fine start to the campaign, with striker Luuk de Jong scoring his first club goal since April 6, 2013.

De Jong opened the scoring after 48 minutes, his first goal for PSV and one that ends a goal drought that had stretched for over a season, with the 24-year-old failing to find the net whatsoever in the 2013/14 season for either Borussia Monchengladbach or Newcastle.

Adam Maher's last-gasp strike then made sure of the points for PSV, who are already three points clear at the top of the table after just four games.

FC Groningen handed Ajax another defeat as they claimed a 2-0 victory.

Ajax only suffered three losses during the entirety of their title-winning campaign last season, but a 48th-minute goal from Eric Botteghin and substitute Michael De Leeuw shortly before full-time condemned them to their second defeat of this campaign.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink blames bad attacking options for the draw between FC Twente and Feyenoord at De Grolsch Veste

NAC Breda claimed their first win of the season after beating PEC Zwolle 3-1 at home.

Tomas Necid struck shortly after the interval as the visitors rallied from Stipe Perica's 37th-minute goal, but NAC took control from Erik Falkenburg's penalty just after the hour mark while Elson Hooi's goal six minutes before full-time settled matters.

Finally, FC Twente are still without a win after claiming their fourth draw from as many matches in a 0-0 stalemate with Feyenoord.
