Roda have reacted to the reports by saying that the 23-year-old Brazilian will undergo a thorough medical check before deciding whether surgery is required.
"There is a problem with his knee, but he trained with us on Monday," Roda coach Wiljan Vloet told spitset.nl.
"It's too early to write him off for the season.
"In the course of this week, we will take a decision after consultation with the medical team."
