New deal for Yildirim

Ugur Yildirim has signed a new contract at Heerenveen.

Ugur Yildirim has signed a new contract at Heerenveen.

The right winger has impressed the Heerenveen top brass since his arrival from Go Ahead Eagles in the summer of 2004 and they have rewarded him for his efforts with an extra three years on his commitment at the Abe Lenstra Stadium.

Yildirim is now tied to the club until 2010 and the security over his contract will allow the midfielder to concentrate on his international future.

Yildirim opted for the Netherlands over Turkey last year and made his debut in an international friendly against England.

Dutch coach Marco van Basten has ignored him ever since and Yildirim is now considering switching allegiance to Turkey.
