Den Haag winger keen to progress his career in SPL

Rangers target Wesley Verhoek has admitted he would like to sign for the club after ADO Den Haag rejected their £1million offer. The 24-year-old has openly stated his desire to join the Scottish champions but the Dutch outfit are reported to be holding out for a fee of £2.6m. Verhoek was part of the Den Haag team that was beaten by Omonia 3-0 in a Europa League qualifier on Thursday night, but is expected to hold talks with chairman Mark van der Kallen to resolve his future. "I will only leave for a big challenge and for me Rangers are a fantastic club," he told the Scottish Sun.

Fee

"But we aren't there yet as the clubs have still to agree a fee and after that I'll see what happens. "When we return from Cyprus, I expect ADO will want to speak to me. "Every footballer is very ambitious and everyone knows Rangers are a big club." There is also interest from English clubs Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest, while Dutch outfits Utrecht and AZ Alkmaar are monitoring the situation.
