Feyenoord close in on Babos

Reports in Holland are claiming Gabor Babos is on the brink of signing a long-term contract with Feyenoord.

The keeper was linked with a move to De Kuip in October and it would appear the Rotterdam outfit have pressed ahead and firmed up their interest.

The Hungarian international has an expiring deal with NAC Breda and it is being claimed he will ink a four-year contract and join Feyenoord in the summer.

None of the connected parties have commented on the subject, but it is believed that Babos will make the move in order to further his claims for a place in Hungary's first team.

Babos has been informed that he needs to be at a bigger club if he is to wrestle the national team's number one jersey from Hertha Berlin's Gabor Kiraly.

Feyenoord are expected to secure a place in Europe for next season, which would give Babos the chance to showcase his talents on a bigger stage.

Despite the likelihood of a move, there is no guarantee Babos will secure the number one jersey at Feyenoord as Edwin Zoetebier and Patrick Lodewijks are sure to put up stiff competition.
