PSV Eindhoven stretched their lead at the top in Holland to seven points with a slender 1-0 win at Groningen.

PSV are looking to see off the challenge of a stubborn AZ Alkmaar, who have been pushing them all the way in the league.

Guus Hiddink's side did not dominate at the Oosterpark Stadion, but did take the lead through Jefferson Farfan's goal a minute before the break.

PSV hung on to claim all three points and extend their lead at the top of the table, although they have played a game more than AZ.

Groningen remain in tenth place in the table after the narrow defeat.
