Injury blow for Grygera

Zdenek Grygera may well have played his last game for Ajax.

Zdenek Grygera may well have played his last game for Ajax after damaging his meniscus on international duty with Czech Republic in midweek.

The classy defender will make the move to Juventus in the summer, but had hoped to sign off in style during Ajax's final five games of the season.

However, he limped out of Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier with Cyprus after just 12 minutes and tests have revealed a tear in the meniscus in his knee which may require surgery.

Grygera has been informed he will be sidelined for at least six weeks and with Ajax having just five games remaining, it would appear as if he has played his last game for the club.

"It is still subject to consideration if he undergoes surgery in Amsterdam or in Turin," Grygera's agent David Nehoda told CTK.
