Koeman pleased with Boukhari

Ajax coach Ronald Koeman has expressed delight with the efforts of Nourdin Boukhari.

Ajax coach Ronald Koeman has expressed delight with the efforts of Nourdin Boukhari at the weekend.

Boukhari returned to the squad after a period in the wilderness and an injury crisis handed him a start against Twente.

The Moroccan winger did not pass up his opportunity, as he produced a fine all-round display and set up Zlatan Ibrahimovic's goal in the 3-2 win.

Boukhari had seemed set to complete a loan move to NAC Breda, but Koeman is not willing to let him leave after such an impressive showing.

"He is still a player of Ajax," Koeman told the club's website. "It's never too late.

"He played well and worked hard. We are not about to let everybody leave.

"Considering Mitea's injury and Soetaers's suspension, I don't think he will play in the NAC shirt against Ajax next Sunday."

The transfer window is due to close at the end of the month and Boukhari could cement a place in Koeman's plans, if he performs with distinction next week.
