PSV Eindhoven thrashed ten-men Heerenveen 4-0 at the Philips Stadion.

PSV Eindhoven are two points clear at the top of De Eredivisie with a 4-0 thrashing of ten-men Heerenveen.

It was the sending off of Tomasz Rzasa for a second bookable offence just before the break that prompted Guus Hiddink's side to go out an take the points in the second half.

Theo Lucius gave the home side the lead four minutes after the restart before Jefferson Farfan (57) and a brace from Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink (63, 74 - pictured) sealed an easy win for PSV.

Ajax were made to work hard for their 1-0 win over Roda JC Kerkrade at the Amsterdam ArenA.

Yannis Anastasiou's goal with two minutes remaining secured the points for Ronald Koeman's side.

Feyenoord kept up the pace with 4-0 away win at RBC Roosendaal.

Saloman Kalou and Bart Goor gave the visitors a two-goal lead at the break before Kalou got his second goal on the hour mark.

Dirk Kuyt rounded off the scoring six minutes later, as Ruud Gullit's side were easy winners at De Luiten.

AZ Alkmaar are fourth after a 3-1 home win over Willem II.

Kenneth Perez gave AZ the lead in the first minute before former Ipswich Town striker Martijn Reuser equalised seven minutes later for the Tilburg club.

Barry van Galen restored AZ's lead two minutes after that and it was not until nine minutes from the end that the home side made the points safe with a third goal from Denny Landzaat.

Finally, Vitesse Arnhem and Den Bosch played out a goalless draw at the Gelredome.
