Feyenoord's on-loan Manchester City forward John Guidetti has apologised following his dismissal during Saturday's 1-1 draw with RKC.

Teenager says incident was 'one of worst moments of my life'

Feyenoord's on-loan Manchester City forward John Guidetti has apologised following his dismissal during Saturday's 1-1 draw with RKC Waalwijk at De Kuip. The teenager netted a 76th-minute opener in the Eredivisie clash only to be sent off moments later after removing his jersey to earn his second booking of the evening. RKC went on to level against the 10-man hosts in the dying minutes of the game and Feyenoord coach Ronald Koeman expressed his anger at Guidetti's behaviour after the match.

Suspended

The 19-year-old Swede, who is the second highest scorer in the league with 18 goals, will now be suspended for next week's crucial away trip to title rivals PSV Eindhoven. He has apologised for the incident, insisting he let his emotions get the better of him. "I let everybody at Feyenoord down," an emotional Guidetti told Eredivisie Live. "This is one of the worst moments of my life. "I don't know what got into me. The emotions just took over. I can't explain it and I feel really miserable right now. "This is really unbelievable. I wish that I could go back in time, but I can't undo what happened. "I'd do anything to undo this, but I can't do anything about it. I have to learn from my mistake. I have apologised to the lads and hopefully the coach can forgive me." Feyenoord boss Koeman blasted Guidetti's naivety after the match and blamed him for the late equaliser.
Angry
"I'm very angry about this. It was a tough match, and in the second half we were more hungry," he was quoted as saying on Goal.com. "However, we go 1-0 up and [Guidetti] then chooses to pull off his shirt. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. "This cannot happen, and it should not happen. I'm very angry about this. Let him sit in the stands. "With 11-against-11, we would have not conceded a late equaliser. Then we could've gone with a dose of confidence to PSV, but now we will miss our top scorer."
