New deals for Gladbach pair

Borussia Monchengladbach have handed contracts to two of their amateurs.

Big-spending Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach have handed contracts to two of their impressive amateurs.

Marcel Jansen and Eugen Polanski have impressed this term and have been handed their first professional contracts and are now tied to the club until 2008.

New coach Dick Advocaat, who brought in no less than seven fresh faces during the winter transfer window, has already used 19-year-old left back Jansen in three Bundesliga games this season, while 18-year-old Polanski is still waiting on his chance to prove himself in Germany's elite division.

Gladbach are looking to climb away from trouble in the second half of the season and the teenage pair will hope to do their bit.
