Injury nightmare for Muller

Barnsley goalkeeper Heinz Muller fears he will be out for at least six months with a knee injury.

Keeper expects to miss rest of the season

Barnsley goalkeeper Heinz Muller fears he will be out for at least six months with a knee injury. Muller suffered the injury during the first half of Barnsley's 1-0 win over Colchester United, but played the full 90 minutes as there was no back-up keeper on the bench. The Championship club were hoping it was not a serious problem, but the German offered a pessimistic outlook. "I am devastated and close to tears," Muller told Nettavisen. "I asked to be substituted at half-time, but we didn't have a reserve goalie. "It is an injury in the right knee, something with the ligament. I will be out for at least the next six months."

Typical

Muller has impressed greatly at Oakwell since joining the club last summer from Lillestrom and had been linked with Premier League teams. He added: "There is no way anything will happen now. "It is typical, the same thing happened when I was on my way up in Germany, but this is my worst injury ever, and came at the most terrible time."
